Tips for moms returning back to work! Creating a smooth transition for the whole family.

Returning to work can be one of the hardest things a Mom does. But with a little organization and preparation, it can be a smoother transition for everyone.

Here are a few tips to help make the return back to work as smooth as possible:

Talk to your boss.

Let them know your plans and when you expect to be back at work. This will help them schedule accordingly.

Create a schedule that works for the whole family.

Having a schedule will help keep everyone on track. This includes a bedtime routine, waking up time, and mealtimes. This can eliminate unnecessary meltdowns from your child while also making it easier for you to get back into the work groove.

Ensure that your partner is on board.

No one can do this alone and, having your partner on the same page as you when it comes to caring for your child will be valuable. This means splitting up household duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking, so that neither one of you are overworked.

Set up a safe place for your kids to play.

Most metropolitan areas have plenty of parks where the kiddos can play and burn all their energy! This will give you some time to unwind or just let them run wild while still keeping an eye on them.

Invest in a baby monitor.

This will allow you to keep an eye on your little one from the office, giving you peace of mind. Knowing that they are safe and happy will help you focus better on your work.

Take advantage of child care services.

If you're ready to leave your child with someone that isn't family, child care services can be a great option. It allows you to drop your little one off at someone else's home or center which, can alleviate any stress.

How do moms cope with going back to work?

For some, working outside the home can take a toll on your self-esteem and confidence as a mother. This is completely normal because for many women, taking care of their kids has been their main focus since they were born. Create space to take care of yourself as well, even if it is just 10 minutes of your day. Children are incredibly intuitive and can feel our energy, so when we are at our best they feel more content.

Feeling guilty about leaving your child behind is another common feeling that moms experience when returning back to work. Allow yourself time to adjust, just as your family is adjusting to the transition. Setting a consistent routine will help you feel better, as you know what to expect.

In conclusion, it's important to remember that you are not alone in this. There are plenty of other mothers out there who are in the same boat as you. Lean on them for support and advice and don't be afraid to ask your boss for help when needed. Most importantly, try to relax and take things one day at a time. Enjoy your time at work and have fun being a mom when you are with your child.
